Dr. Davis has over 33 years of experience in the safety, security and policing sectors. For the past 17 years Dr. Davis has served as executive leader in both the public and private sectors. As municipal police chief Dr. Davis led the sixth largest city in the state of Minnesota to a 22 year low in crime, while reducing custodial arrests and increasing community confidence in the police.  Dr. Davis was nationally recognized for his work by the Police Executive Research Forum as recipient of the 2012 Gary P. Hayes award. Since 2013, Dr. Davis have been the Vice President of Gobal Safety and Policing for Northeastern University, a global research institution of higher education with 14 campuses in three countries.  

For the past decade Dr. Davis has been consulting with Department of Justice as police practice expert along with working on variety of federal initiatives including the Violence Reduction Network and 21st Century Policing Project.  As a consultant, Dr. Davis has worked to improve organizational outcomes for state and municipal law enforcement agencies along with private sector policing functions.  

As a scholar, Dr. Davis is an expert in occupational stress and organizational effectiveness.  Dr. Davis holds a master's degree in organizational management and received his Doctorate from Northeastern in Law and Policy.
